Here are some basic steps to take in starting off a Single-Player game: |
This is the standard weapon for both MultiPlayer and SinglePlayer. When you select this weapon, (1) it will have 50 ammo. Pressing the firing buttons will deplete its energy rather quickly, but it will recharge
when not in use. I find that this weapon is pretty powerfull for
a primary weapon, and can actually get you out of a few holes (except on Borg
drones) While this weapon is ok in SinglePlayer mode, its...well, useless
when playing against humans on a MultiPlayer match server. |
The Phaser Compression Riffle isn't the most powerful weapon, but it does come in
handy. While playing in single-player mode it does its job fairly well but in
Multi-Player mode, it's much more helpful. Press and hold the scroll button
on your mouse (if you have one) to zoom in, then choose your victim and hit
the secondary firing button to snipe off your prey. If you choose to use
the PCR in SinglePlayer mode be careful not to hit your teammates by accident on
away missions, as they will be instantly vaporized, and there you go, GAME OVER. |
The I-MOD or "Infinity Modulator" designed by Seven of Nine is an extremely helpful
weapon. In SinglePlayer mode this is the ONLY weapon worth using against
the Borg, as they cannot adapt, no matter how many times you shoot them.
This can also be used to snipe just as you would use the PCR but it is a little
weaker and its range is a little shorter. But the best feature of this
weapon can be taken advantage of in MultiPlayer mode, is the I-MOD will cut thru
an enemy's armor and best of all if an enemy is using the Metaphasic Shielding
the I-Mod will also cut thru that instead of being deflected. |
Let me just cut to the chase, this weapon is useless in any mode. It takes
a year for your bullets to finally get to your enemy, and by the time they actually
reached there target, of course, they've moved and by now you have probably
have been killed. I honestly would rather use the basic Phaser instead
of this weapon. |
